Worry Weighs You DOWN
Psalm 55:22 (KJV) “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
What are you carrying around with you today? Are you holding onto things that you are worrying about and can’t seem to let go? Take a moment and write down everything that is weighing you down.
Now, using your imagination pretend that you are putting a backpack on your back. Each problem that you are worrying about represents one brick. Place all the bricks into the backpack. Is your backpack heavy? Even if you only have one brick it is still heavier than it should be.
1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Proverbs 12:25 (NIV)”An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”
God wants us to give those things that trouble our hearts to him and let him CARRY it and HANDLE it. We can end up carrying around so many burdens that our LOAD is so HEAVY we can barley keep going. That is not what God intended for us to do when troubles come along in our lives. He wants us to give ALL our cares to him and trust him that he will take care of it!!
When you are faced with a problem you have two options.
1. You can carry it around with you
2. Give it to God
If you carry it around with you then you will worry about it…if you worry about it you will ONLY focus on the PROBLEM and worry yourself to death. If you give it to God and trust in him, then you will be FREE from worry and will focus on HIM and not the PROBLEM. It effects what you focus on…your PROBLEM or GOD.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Give your burdens to HIM!!! You will feel so much better!! :)

ReplyDeleteI believe that's the key - He wants us to be FREE from worry so we can FOCUS on HIM.
