HIS way or OUR way
To walk is to pursue a course of action or way of life. We ALL are walking each and everyday of our lives. The question is WHERE? Are you walking the course that God specially constructed for YOU? He has designed a particular course for each of us. Are you traveling down the road he designed for YOU? We are going to pursue either HIS WAY or OUR WAY…one of the two.
Divinely arranged for you
Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord… ”
In my words: “If you are a righteous man living for the Lord delighting in his ways, the path you travel will be divinely arranged for you.”
He has divinely arranged your future!! Who better to arrange my future than God!!
He has good things for us!
Good things are waiting for you
The Lord desires for us to have abundant life!!! He wants us to be happy and have a successful future!!! He desires only good things for us. You can’t have an abundant life without God. It’s just not possible. I’ve been there; there was nothing abundant about my life before I started pursuing and living for Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future.”
In my words: “I know what your future holds because I have designed it, I see the end which is good for I only want good things for you in the time that is yet to come.”
Trusting in Him
We think we can start traveling down our own route thinking that we know what we want, we know what is good for us and we can make our own good decisions without God. After traveling that route we created for ourselves we realize that we were wrong and we don’t know what we want, we can’t make our own decisions without God and we don’t know what’s best for us.
Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths.”
In my words: “Trust the Lord completely without any doubt even if we can’t understand or comprehend it in our minds; in every way follow Him and he will give us direction to where he desires us to go.”
Pursing HIS route in our lives is not always easy and we won’t always understand why things happen the way they do and for what purpose. He has wonderful things in store for ALL of us! Just because we experience hard times doesn’t mean he is mad or angry with us. That is just LIFE! We will ALL face difficult times in our lives and circumstances that we would rather not experience. When it doesn’t make sense to us; we MUST trust him that he wouldn’t take us down a road without purpose. When things happen that we don’t understand, trust in Him that he knows what’s best for us and knows what he is doing. We have a different perspective than he does.

He will guide you
Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”
In my words: “I will give you knowledge and give you guidance to where I desire for you to go; I will give you wise actions to follow and will keep my eyes on you 24/7 without taking breaks.”
Take a closer look at Psalm 32:8 ....
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” There are 4 promises found in this scripture!
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” There are 4 promises found in this scripture!
o He promises to instruct you (give you knowledge)
o He promises to teach you (guidance)
o He promises to counsel you (give you wise actions to follow)
o He promises to watch over you (keep his eyes on you 24/7)
Now that’s comforting!! He promises to guide us the whole way!! Sometimes we get this idea that God doesn’t know what’s going on in our lives. We ask the questions “Is he aware of what’s going on?”… “Is he paying attention?” The scripture says that He is ALWAYS watching us. He doesn’t just watch us some of the time; he is watching around the clock never taking is eyes off of us. He doesn’t take breaks!!
What route are you taking? Are you on traveling down a road you designed for yourself or the one God designed for you?

ReplyDeleteWow!! That was incredible Krista...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this. I needed it today.
Great word.
Hi Krista, I can really relate to this one. So many times I chose a road only to end of looking for a U-turn. I see you're an Arkansas girl too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thought provoking post on WFW! I loved how you shared your own personal interpretation too. :)
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm in the midst of some very trying circumstances. It's easy for people to guess and think; oh my she must be in the midst of sin or she's going her own way and not God's.
However, sometimes God allows difficulties in our lives to draw us closer to Himself. I can tell you that I'm running to Him. He is my refuge in the midst of the storm. I am learning so many important lessons and allowing the Lord to purify me through this painful process.
But I know it is worth it. Do I want a happy pain free life? Of course. But I'd rather be on the path that God has ordained for me even if it involves suffering.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Such a great post.

ReplyDeleteOh I loved this. What a great illustration and thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful words! I want to walk down His path and not my own! His path is not always easy but it is full of joy, peace and excitement! Thank you for this excellent WFW!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post!! I can really relate to this one. Way too many times have I tried to walk my own path. I am sure glad that God allows u-turns!! He is always there and waits patiently for it to click when we realize that His way is the only way!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Krista! So many times I get distracted & wander off the chosen path, but God always has a way to nudge me back on. I have to remember that He sees the big picture & I have to trust him.
