I read a news article yesterday click here for article about a missionary named Andrew Palau preaching a two-day Love Kampala Festival in Uganda, in spite of the heavy terrorist threats. More than 80,000 appeared to hear his preaching in spite of heavy security, metal detectors and the fear of attack.
It takes great commitment, determination and trust in the Lord to go to dangerous places and preach the gospel. The sacrifices that missionaries make are remarkable.
Mark 16:15 “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
I am thankful for the missionaries God has raised up to such a high calling. I pray more will rise up to go out and reach our hurting and lost world.

ReplyDeleteAmen. The cost is great for many of these missionaries. They leave the comforts of home and some even leave family, to go into dark areas that are dangerous. We need to pray for the missionaries as they go into places we could never go and support them not just financially but prayerfully as well. Great post Krista!

our church is sending off missionaries as often as it can. we believe in honoring God and making disciples. praise God for missionaries.

ReplyDeleteThe missionaries are so important and many of them live and work in the most dangerous places. They are essential to the spreading of the Gospel. I thank God that these brave people respond to God's invitation, they are truly sharing the gifts that they are blessed with. Your post is a beautiful reminder that these people need our prayers to continue their important work.

I think that sometimes we take missionaries for granted. Often they are in perilous situations. Thank you for reminding us how important they are to the cause of Christ.
